Announcements for Week of 5/5/08

Catalyst EDU will have the "Fountain for Youth" Benefit on May 15th at 6:00 pm.  Michelle and Michael Eilings will host the event at their home in Eldorado Springs (5013 Eldorado Springs Drive), where Doc Bowles Jazz Quartet will provide music, and we will provide European market dining.  A silent auction and duck donation will also take place at the Benefit.  Tickets are $75 per person or $125 per couple.  Please use the included response card from the invitation, or call Leslie, Jennifer, or Ed at Catalyst during the day at (303) 604-6512.

As always, students are welcome to enroll anytime!

Catalyst students are currently taking classes in Block K, which is a four-week block that ends on May 20th.  May 20th will also be our "Rites of Passage" presentation day, which will include a graduation.

May 20th is also the date of the next Board of Director's meeting, which will start at 6:00 pm.

Block L will start on May 27th and last through June 20th, when we plan to have another graduation.

Financial Aid should be available again for fall admissions.

Announcements for Week of 3/17/08

The last day of Block H is March 21st, when students will share presentations about work and projects they completed for the block, as well as have a luncheon potluck.

Catalyst EDU students will not have classes next week for Spring Break.

The first day of classes for Block I is Monday, March 31st.  It is an intensive that lasts through April 15th.

Block J is also an intensive and it starts on April 17th and runs through April 22nd.

Don't forget the last day of the Barnes & Noble bookfair for Catalyst EDU is March 11th! Come support Catalyst EDU by mentioning our name when purchasing Books, CD's, DVD's, and Cafe Items and a percentage of the net sale will be donated to our school. 

Catalyst Converters step up to the plate and start their first softball season. We could use your help! We are looking for new and used softball gloves and bats for our team. If you have any equipment please contact us at 303.604.6512. Catalyst Converters also need your help in the stands. Come cheer us on!!

All games will be played at Stazio Field 6. Stazio Fields are located at 2445 Stazio Lane in Boulder near Eco-Cycle. Please no dogs or glass containers. In the event of inclement weather please call the Rainout Line at 303.441.3410, and check Catalyst's announcements for make-up information.

The make-up game for last week is scheduled for Wednesday March 12, at 7:00 PM at Stazio Field 5.


Block H
ends March 21st. After spring break, Block I will begin on March 31st. Catalyst students will be studying civic participation and then will be participating in all five days of the Conference On World Affairs. As always, students are welcome to start class at anytime!

Catalyst EDU is happy to welcome our youngest addition to the family Anastasia Lee Gump born Feb 19th 6 lbs 7 oz. to our math teacher Melita Gump. Congratulations Melita!

Announcements for Week of 2/19/08

Our generous donors have made it possible for us to reduce tuition by 30% for all students, and provide additional financial assistance for families that qualify! 

Regular Education is $795 per month, or $9,540 per year, with financial assistance for students that qualify.

Block G ends on February 22nd, and Block H will begin on February 25th, and will be a four week block. As always, our rolling admissions policy allows students to start classes at anytime!

Catalyst is proud to announce our second graduate. Student projects presented February 22nd at 10:30, and graduation at 11:30.

Catalyst is now offering night school classes for seniors to satisfy graduation requirements. Session 1 is February 25 - March 19, Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30 - 8:30 PM. Session 2 is April 21 - May 14, Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30 - 8:30 PM. Cost is $50 per credit.

Catalyst students step up to bat! Come cheer on Catalyst's first softball team, the Catalyst Converters, Thursday evenings starting March 6th; check the announcement for game times and locations.

Announcements for Week of 2/4/2008

As always, students are welcome to enroll at any time.

Block G began on January 28th and will last through February 22ndBlock H will begin on February 25th and will be a four-week block.

The Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 12th at 6:00 pm.

There will be another school-wide field trip on Wednesday, February 13th from 9 am to 4 pm.  Students and faculty will meet Howie Movshovitz at the Starz Filmcenter at the Tivoli.  Mr. Movshovitz will introduce them to critiquing films, and they will screen a Chinese film together.  What a great opportunity for students to learn first hand about film critiquing and to have a lot of fun!

Catalyst EDU will be closed on Monday, February 18th in observance of President's Day.

Announcements for Week of 1/14/2008

Block F ends on January 25th, and Block G begins on January 28th, and will be a four-week block.  Students are welcome to enroll at any time!

Catalyst EDU will be closed on Monday, January 21st in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and will reopen again on Tuesday, January 22nd.

On January 24th, Catalyst EDU will offer another shadow day, where prospective students (parents also welcome) can come in and observe a class, interact with the current students, and truly see what our school is like.  Please feel free to call and let us know that you will come, or just come on in!

Announcement for Week of 12/17/2007

Just a reminder, students are welcome to enroll at any time!

Students are on break starting Friday December 21st. The offices of Catalyst EDU will be closed on December 24 and 25th as well as January 1st.

Classes start on Thursday January 3rd for Block F, which is a four-week block.

There will be a Catalyst EDU Board of Directors Meeting on January 8th at 6pm.

On January 8th and January 24th from 9-1 Catalyst EDU will be open for students to come shadow. This gives prospective students an opportunity to see our school first hand. Please contact us for scheduling at any time 303-604-6512 or info@catlystedu.org.

Catalyst EDU has cancelled the Open House Luncheon scheduled for 11/29, since many people were able to tour the school and learn more about us at our successful Benefit on 11/26.  We look forward to the next Open House Luncheon on December 11th from 11:00 to 1:00!  Please RSVP to Leslie Levinson at leslie.levinson@catalystedu.org, or (303) 604-6512.

Block E started on 11/26, and will run through 12/19.

Block F starts on January 3rd and will go through January 25th as a four-week block.

Announcements for Week of 11/20/07

Catalyst EDU will be closed on November 22nd and November 23rd in observance of Thanksgiving.  Students start back on November 26th for Block E (4 week block).

Students are welcome to enroll at any time!

Catalyst Education of Colorado's Benefit will be on November 26th at 6:00 PM.  Please visit www.clubnissis.com to purchase tickets.  There will be a live auction for items which include a Canada Cabin Package with airline miles for 2, and Summit Wildernest Ski Condo Get Away Weekend. Silent auction items include a fabulous water color by Nancy Sullo, Whole Foods and Casa Alvarez gift certificates, Broncos tickets and much much more.  Tickets to the benefit include hors d'oeuvres and desserts, a concert by Nelson Rangell, and lots of fun!  Please purchase your tickets ASAP, since we are selling them quickly!

Announcements for Week of 11/12/07

The Catalyst EDU Benefit is coming up quickly! The Benefit will be on November 26th at 6:00 PM.  It includes a concert with Nelson Rangell, complimentary hors d'ouerves and desserts, and silent and live auctions.  For more information contact us, or go to www.nissis.com.  Tickets are $45 in advance, and $50 at the door.  Please go to www.clubnissis.com to purchase tickets, but don't wait!

Block E is a four week session that begins on November 26th and lasts through December 19th.  Catalyst EDU students will have a holiday break from December 20th, 2007 through January 2nd, 2008.

Block F is also a four week session that starts on January 3rd and goes through January 25th.

Students are welcome to enroll at any time!

The next Board of Directors meeting will be on December 4th at 6:00 PM.
